The mission of BIONJ is to formulate and advocate policy positions to elected officials and regulators, acquire and coordinate resources and provide services to members regarding issues critical to building successful biotechnology enterprises and enhance awareness and appreciation of New Jersey’s biotechnology industry.


Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC)
Brick City Development Corporation (BCDC), the primary economic development catalyst for Newark, New Jersey, was organized to retain, attract and grow businesses, enhance small and minority business capacity, and spur real estate development within the city. Brick City Development Corporation initiates and executes economic development activities to produce and sustain economic growth, generate jobs and create wealth for the citizens of Newark.

Center for Urban Entrepreneurship  & Economic Development (Rutgers University)
The mission of the Center is is to build a world-class research-driven, teaching and practitioner-oriented urban entrepreneurship and economic development program that will transform the economy of the City of Newark, New Jersey, and other urban centers; create wealth in urban communities; and be a model for all urban universities.

Procurement technical Assistance Center (PTAC)
The NJIT Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides contractual and technical assistance to small-established New Jersey businesses interested in marketing their products, services to federal, state and local government agencies.  The center operates under a cost sharing cooperative agreement between Department of Defense and New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation (GNEC) is a community development corporation, and Certified CDFI, established in 2005. The Organization is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and similar provisions of the State code. GNEC provides financial assistance and training to small businesses in a variety of topical areas, including financial literacy for entrepreneurs, business planning and business management across a myriad of industries. Economic development is the primary purpose of The Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation, and the organization carries out that mission by financing small business growth and development, job creation, community facilities, and providing financial services for low-income families. GNEC is organized to encourage and assist commercial enterprises, including those owned by minority, women and low-income entrepreneurs possessing the capability to operate successful business concerns.

NJAWBO is the oldest statewide women business owners' organization in the United States. Its primary objective is to support and encourage business ownership by women. New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology (NJCST)
Established in 1985, the Commission is responsible for the development and oversight of policies and programs promoting science and technology research and entrepreneurship in New Jersey.  Through the Edison Innovation Fund, the Commission provides funding to New Jersey technology companies, in partnership with a New Jersey research university, for proof-of-concept research and development activities necessary for commercialization of an identified technology. Other programs from the Commission support entrepreneurial companies through SBIR Bridge grants, technology fellowships and incubator seed fund grants.

New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)
The EDA is a self-supporting, independent state agency whose mission is to stimulate business development, job creation and community revitalization throughout the State. From its large portfolio of varied programs and services, the EDA can assist entrepreneurs with low-interest financing assistance, including tax-exempt and taxable bond financing, loans, loan guarantees, venture capital and business and tax incentives and with training and technical assistance programs.

American Entrepreneurship Today
American Entrepreneurship Today-New Jersey is the premier centralized resource for entrepreneurship in New Jersey.   It provides important information about events and resources to assist entrepreneurs and small business owners to start and to grow their New Jersey businesses. A free monthly email newsletter is distributed to subscribers.   It is one of a number of state focused entrepreneurship portals under the national site:  American Entrepreneurship Today.

New Jersey Entrepreneurial Network (NJEN)
The NJEN is a non-profit organization providing educational and informational services to entrepreneurs, investors, persons in related fields and the public in general. Our monthly meetings are attended by a select group of entrepreneurs, company executives, venture capitalists, angel investors, investment bankers, and professional services providers.


NJ  Entrepreneurs Forum (NJEF)
The New Jersey Entrepreneurs Forum is a non-profit corporation supported by a Board of Trustees and other volunteers who assist young New Jersey companies. NJEF meets monthly for the purpose of educating and assisting entrepreneurs. Our mission is to assist the entrepreneurs and management teams of young technology companies, so the thoughts that count the most are yours!

MEP is a nationwide organization that is working to support the Manufacturing Sector by delivering technical and business assistance to small and medium size businesses.
